Facebook or Google – Which Ad Platform to Use for Your Next Campaign?

So you are ready to advertise online. Now the big question is where to spend your ad dollars, Facebook or Google?

Google or Facebook

If you are selling a product or service that people are actively looking for, you should stick to Google Adwords. For example, if you are running a store that sells shoes/scarves, or operating a hotel owner for that matter. You have a better chance of getting leads from users looking for “cheap canvas shoes” or “Hotel deals in Melbourne”

However, if you are targeting a category or interest groups like business owners, fitness, finance etc then you need to use Facebook to generate awareness about your brand and products. Users are on Facebook primarily to connect with friends and family. They are not actively looking for products or services. For this reason, you cannot have “buy now” ad campaigns on Facebook. It simply won’t work.

Your Facebook Ad should be lead users to a page where they can get more information about your product or service. Offer them a lot of useful information along with a free ebook, report or webinar before you ask them to buy a product.

Hope this article helps you with your next ad campaign. All the best!
